Hi every one long time lurker first time poster. I have been kicking around the idea of building a 300 win mag for back country hunting. Now I am going to get started. I have been a hard core bow hunter for years now the kids are getting old enough to hunt so I will be rifle hunting with them for a bit. Kinda been leaning towards a tikka build. If anyone out there has any good advise or any extra accessory's (bottom metal, light weight stock, etc) for a tikka let me know. Also looking for a stainless tikka in 300wm. Also want to thank everyone on here for all the good advise I have already gotten from this forum.

Welcome from Southern middle Tennessee also a Tikka is a good place to start for a custom build

Welcome to the forum! What about just buying a Tikka extra lite and go shoot?

Hay come on let's not be to logical. How I the heck am I supposed to spend absorbent amounts of money if I just shoot a off the shelf Tikka. Lol

In all honesty I prob will do that for a bit. My first few upgrades will be bottom metal and thread the muzzle. Shouldn't cost to much. Then I will just use it and slowly spruce it up. I am not in a huge hurry to get it fully tricked out.
