No, Sir! The guides did the filleting. Thanks!Great haul of fish!
Do you bleed your fish before fileting them? I started a few years ago and I'll never go back.
Yes, Sir! Good friends, good food, good fishing = good old fun times.Looks like a superb time!
That's awesome. We were considering doing the same. Hopefully soon.Yes!! Love it! Pierre is a Sportsmans paradise. My favorite trip of every fall is our annual surf-n-turf weekend on resident pheasant opener in early October. We pull the boat and stay in a hotel on the Missouri River. Fantastic fishing and hunting within minutes of Pierre. Lots of wild South Dakota roosters, Sharptail Grouse and fat, hungry Walleyes for the taking. We generally hunt birds in the morning, take a break for lunch, hunt til mid afternoon, then load up the boat and start catching 'eyes. Limits come easy in the fall as the fish are packing it on before the water gets colder.

You won't regret it. I grew up fishing in northern Minnesota, so I know about good Walleye fishing. Pierre is as good fishing and way better bird hunting. There are thousands of acres of public/huntable private land near Pierre. Even if you don't have any private permissions, you can do well on birds. Walleye fishing in the fall is just on a different level compared to summer fishing. It doesn't seem to matter how big of a group of people we have, we nearly always keep limits of fish over 16". Easy fishing too. Just a 3/8 or 1/2 oz short shank jig head tipped with a fathead. We do most of our fishing within sight of our hotel. Usually under or around the main bridge in town. After dark, shallow running Rapalas thrown in the downstream lights of the bridge can be amazing too, as the fish come up to the surface to chase bait attracted by the bridge lights. Last fall I caught 5 'eyes on 5 casts using this method. The White bass fishing can be insane in the fall too. We don't keep them but they're a ton of fun to catch. My favorite method during daylight for Whites is a 5" Zoom Super Fluke fished on the surface. When you get into a good school, you can easily boat over 100 fish in an hour. You can seriously wear out your arms when the White Bass are feeding! That's awesome. We were considering doing the same. Hopefully soon.
