So I am looking at mounting a 6.5-20x 44mm Vortex Viper. It will be on a rem 700 with a nightforce picatinny rail. I think the low ring height will work (?) for both types of rings. The choice is between the Vortex scope rings ( Vortex 30mm Precision Matched Rings Picatinny-Style Matte Low - MidwayUSA ) or the nightforce ultralights ( Nightforce 30mm Ultralite Picatinny-Style Rings Matte Low - MidwayUSA ). With the vortex I like the lifetime warrenty and the fact that there are no big knobby bolts. But Im unsure of their quality. The nightforce rings have such a great reputation. Both look like they have a recoil cross bolt lug. so I was just curious what people thought of these two options, thank you.

The Vortex rings are made by Glen Seekins of Seekins Precision - they are good rings!!

NightForce UltraLight rings are my favorites - they are bomb proof!!!

Either set of rings will do you right, but I'd go with the NightForce.
