vectronix vector IV

I may buy a used vector IV and was woundering if anyone could tell me what brand of batteries last the longest . I think 2CR5 are the batter type . Is this correct? Im hoping someone will chime in with there experiece with this unit. I have used the one i am thinking about buying and hit 4007 yards with the battery light flashing or blinking . Just want to try it with a fresh 6volt battery to see what it maxs out at.

My cousin was pegging a moving semi at beyond 6000 but I'm not sure if he has ever changed the batteries.
I can find out though.
