URSA Shoots Return to NorCal - Sunday, January 19, 2020 - CANCELLED

Event cancelled - access/snow issues.

Location – Clear Lake area (same as prior)

Setup will be done late Saturday or early Sunday morning by our NorCal crew. Target(s) will be in place at minimum 2000 yards. IRIS hit-indicators will be in place and be the sole control for official hits and misses.

If you want to shoot this event, you need to sign up, ONLINE (see below), worst case, no later than Wednesday the 15th by or before 6 PM. The Match Director will decide how many shooters need to be signed up to move forward with this event. Unless the event is formally cancelled (as announced on this and other posting sites), assume it is going forward.

This shoot will be the first opportunity to qualify for the 2020 URSA 3000 Yard Challenge – to qualify you need 5 hits in 10 shoots during the formal 7+3 practice session, or event qualification, or record round.

The URSA Official Course of Fire is at FAQ 13, near the bottom of this page on the URSA website - https://www.unlimitedrange.org/operations.html All shooter should review the course of fire prior to arriving at the venue. Venue detail will be provided later this week on the CalGuns site – contact me if you need the link. Substantial additional data regarding URSA shoots are included on the same web page.

Sign-Ups: URSA uses the online program, Zoho Forms, to capture Liability Release and Build Sheet sign up data, and spectator/other Liability Release sing up data. Please use the appropriate link at the top of the Activity/Event Schedule page to sign up for this and future events (http://www.unlimitedrange.org/activity event schedule.html). If you have any problem with the online form, please e-mail me ASAP ([email protected]). BTW, the form asks for limited "address" (only city, state, and ZIP). We do NOT need your street address.

Now...a serious question....not to be antagonistic....
Why would you support the shooting in CA....
Why not move it to Nevada or Oregon where it is still okay to own and shoot guns..as well as buy ammunition...

I can see a point of needing to keep some resemblance of guntoting people around the state.....but to hold an event like this...where money spent goes to the state to fight yourselves.......seems very odd...

Why would we NOT support shooting in California??? We have done so since May of 2015. There is ZERO issue with rifles or ammo. We regularly have shooters using rifles chambered in .50 BMG. What money is spent to support anti-gun activities??? You mean sales tax on gas, reloading components, and sales tax on "everything"? Where do you NOT need to pay sales tax? BTW, we had one event in 2019 in NV and will likely have at least one in 2020. Just watch the Event Schedule page.

Well first they have you double dipped here....
1st...Pay the state tax of californa for reload materials and fuel......
2nd...all the materials for reloading already have the sportsman tax added on......

In oregon you would still have a fuel tax but not the sales tax tacked on....and there would be no sales tax added to the total of the reload materials......

Yeah, it's obviously shittier for us than it is for you. But I'm still going to do the things I enjoy even though I hate who runs this state. With your logic I should live off the grid and grow my own food while living here? Trust me, if I could not give a single red cent to California taxes I wouldn't. But that's not an option as some of us are stuck here and have to make the best of it. If we quit shooting, then the liberals really win.
