I have a ruger #1 stainless w/walnut stock in .257 Roberts. I was told it was in a special run of 250 or 500 rifles. Any suggestions on how to determine the value if I decide to sell it?

Not much of this kind of value determination done around here as most here wouldn't consider it a LRH rifle and would probably use it for a donor action.
There are Ruger collectors out there that may be helpful. Google on ruger collectors or variations and see what pops up.
