Ultimate LR rig

Well...

I would have Lapua make 300 RUM brass

I would have a BAT action or somtihing similar in a repeater setup...

gonna shoot the 240's

30" fast twist Schnieder Polyagonal or Rock Barrel..
Flutted ( for the cooling aspect not weight saving )
OPS Inc. Break
An A5 or Tooley MBR stock heavy/sniper filled. And able to cycle loaded cartridges from the mag. Chris would have to make a custom mag I'm sure..

If in the A5 then Badger metal, rings and base...

not sure on Optics.. Nightforce or USO in a scope with up to 30X available just in case I get that early morning shot with No mirage!!

Since I'm in colorado and hunt elk in the high country plus being over 60 doesn't help I'd like a rifle in about 5lb including scope. Wake up your dreaming again.

Actually, Mark Banser makes a "Sheep Hunter" edition rifle that is around 6 lbs ...

very high priced but seems to be of good quality

Roper, check out www.kifaru.net. They've got standard caliber rifles at 4.5 lbs scopes, and the WSMs could be under 5 lbs without problem.

Mine would be a PGW Timberwolf 338 Lapua in an A5 stock w/ optional suppressor.

Wayne, A VERY cool Rifle.

I have several favorites, but my current one is the 7mm WSM on a M70 CRF with MacMillan A-5. Don't know about optics as I currently have no favorite.
