I've been using Ballistic AE. I think Federal designed it. I use it on my Ipad and phone. It has worked pretty well for me. Seems to match my confirmed come ups better when I use the G7 BC. Has coriolus, spin drift, and a wide variety of bullets and factory loads in the database. Plus it's simple like I am.
I've used Hornady's calculator a bit as well.

The phrase - "play around" - is most appropriate within the discussion of trajectories.

With friends in SD who live "long-range hunting" I was able to hit the 10-inch steel plate on the first shot with some tutoring, a Kestrel, and a trajectory/ballistic calculating program via an iPhone. Almost forgot to mention the 1/2-mile range and the caliber - .243 Winchester.

This was open range shooting in November and a day where weather (other than the wind) was of no great concern. From a bipod and butt-bag, prone, on a drag-bag, with a bull barrel, on a tuned bolt action, fitted to a sporting rifle stock and topped with a custom shop Leupold rifle scope set at 25X ultra fine cross hairs.

While the specifics of the projectile, case capacity, primer and powder weight were not shared - their reloading room was a near-clean room area within a temperature and humidity controlled environment. And its small-sliding back window opened to a narrow bench and a 300-yard range.

Now transpose that to a specific hunting location in say-Wyoming, early October, and above 6,000 feet, and you'll need a few extra minutes to range and calculate a shot beyond 300-yards, no matter what caliber. All the while hoping the animal will stay within your sight plane.

Long range hunting is not a hap-hazard sortie into the great unknown. But most importantly - the hunter must also understand that it is not the calculus of an exact science either - because there are a multiplicity of variables and environmental conditions!

A small amount of luck may also be required.

Found the same G7 results as well, I really like the HUD feature!

I need to use the HUD more than I do. When I first started with the app many years ago the HUD would throw me some random results occasionally so I lost confidence in it. I'm sure that is completely up to speed now.
