One of the newest scope and binocular companies is TRACT.
The two owners, both named Jon, worked in the sporting optics industry for many years, last stop was Nikon. Then they quit Nikon and formed TRACT Optics.
Their scopes have three price lines and the top line, Toric, has German SCHOTT glass and ED glass, all lenses fully multicoated with a minimum or four coatings.
The reviews for TRACT optics has been very favorable from some quite knowledgable testers.
There is nothing really new about their optics' technology except that their prices are often less than half what other top scope and binocular makers charge for the same quality. This is done the same way SWFA does it. You buy direct from the company and don't pay for a lineup of middlemen.
Currently TRACT is only producing scopes (all made in Japan) that are 2nd focal plane and MOA turrets with either duplex or BDC reticles. Fine if you like that setup.
When TRACT makes those top-of-the-line Toric scopes with FFP, mil/mil and maybe even a Christmas tree reticle I'll be there with my credit card in my grubby little hand, drooling and glassy-eyed, ready to buy one. That is unless I've already purchased a Vortex AMG scope, in which case I'll be delirious with joy.
In the meantime I'll be using my SWFA 3 - 15 x 42 scope that, GUESS WHAT? - is sold only through the SWFA, with no middlemen. What a novel idea!
