Purchased a 338 Lapua from Tim....
Good: Agreed to do a payment plan since it was expensive, he was flexible with payment method, patient since the transaction took about 5 months via paypal, had good monthly communication with him.
Bad: He acknowledged the final payment and would let me know when it shipped and agreed to provide a tracking number. But, once I made the final payment, all communications stopped. I sent several follow up emails, had my dad and brother try to contact him (since I am away for work), and my gun shop tried contacting him. After two weeks he finally contacted my gun shop with a short email saying he needed their FFL information. He then sent an email with just an email address and phone number for his FFL, nothing else, no guidance or direction. I finally received an email from him 15 days after the final payment apologizing for the delay and saying he's been busy, again it was a short email, nothing else. He said the rifle will ship, but he did not provide a ship date or a tracking number when I asked for the fifth time for one. My gun shop contacted me yesterday and said they received it. I do not know the condition the rifle is in or how it was packaged. I am waiting for an update from the shop.
Overall: I would not do business with him again. I understand if you're busy, work is rough, etc...Life happens. Just provide updates. Its not hard to send an email, text, or PM in todays ridiculously electronic dependent society.
Conclusion: 18 days to ship an expensive rifle, with no communication, tracking number, and insurance information is a no-go IMHO.
