Thoughts on Browning Gold shotgun

I shot doves in Az with two Browning Golds that I had traded a Benelli SBE for. Seemed like the Brownings kicked half of what the SBE did that turned my arm green from recoil from Rem Dove loads.
I cleaned the gun every 500 rounds because I was not familiar with how sensitive the gas system was. As time went on, I went to cleaning it every 2000 rounds or so. I never did have a jam with either of the Golds, never. One of the guns was a loaner for who ever I took with me.
I never needed to take the trigger group out. Removing the gas rings was just a little different than an 1100, but no big deal. Two good friends that I had let borrow the loaner wanted to buy the guns when I moved from Az, and I sold the guns for that reason.

Not hard at all keep the gas port wiped down to keep the carbon from building up. Trigger group comes out with two pins and slide handle pulls out. No special tools

I love my 3.5" gold. Great gun. Quick story:
Went to Canada for ducks and geese. 2 other guys brought Benelli's new "best gun" (this was 15-20 years ago). I shot over 300 rounds a day or 3.5" (farmer wanted the fowl out of his fields). My buddies shot 3" for first day. One did not hunt second day, and neither the third or fourth. They were too sore. They came with us so for limit coverage. I shot over 1200 3.5" over 4 days and was fine. There are great guns out there, but none better than the browning gold in my opinion. It is still my go to turkey gun if I use a gun when turkey hunting.

I had a 10ga Gold for a while, no problems with it either, and I would buy another. Recoil on the 10ga was just a push, not a fast snap.

I have several, 20 and 12's and a 10. Superb shotguns, run like a swiss watch and shoot soft. I sold a bunch of shotguns off when I bought my first Gold. The only other self loaders I kept is a sentimental 1100 and a Winchester Super X2 3.5 that is the exact same action as the Gold without the magazine interrupt.
I will say, they DEMAND lubrication, the bolt carrier to bolt surfaces and and the bolt carrier to the receiver. Do that and it will run and run and run. My 3.5" 12 has 3500 rounds or so of 3.5" steel through it and an additional probably 100K rounds of target loads, and it has never faltered once when it has a little oil where it needs it. Cold, hot, clean, dirty, it doesn't matter.

Mine is golden!
have owned 5 different models of the gold and used them from sporting clays to bird and deer hunting and have 10s of thousands of rounds down the pipe the only issue was the firing pin, get yourself an extra one. other than that, I love them still have 3 in the safe. for cleaning we just pulled the forearm and sprayed with choke and carb cleaner it cleaned the carbon easily and dried fast them a quick shot of spray rem oil don't think I ever ran a brush or swab down the barrel.
