Good choice for a bullet proof (excuse the pun) action. I have had two 550 actions, one mag, one std. The mag action is a Safari Classic which I turned into an 8mm Rem mag. I went to Bell and Carlson for the stock. It has a true safari type (relatively narrow) forend. Hole to hole on my Safari Classic is an even 8". I have an original CZ wood stock but I think it was for the long std action. Hole to hole is 7 3/4". If I remember correctly, B&C is the only stock solution except McMillan ($$$). As far as I know, McMillan only makes one model for CZ 550 magnum but it's sold without inletting. Choices have become very limited for the fact CZ stopped making the 550. Huge mistake!!
