Steve’s Bull Elk 7PRC 170 HHT

Steve, co-owner of Hammer Bullets, shot this Bull Elk at 350 yards with a custom 7prc running with a 26" 1:8TR Proof barrel, Tikka action and Gunwerks suppressor. Using the new tipped 170 Hammer HHT with a MV 3130FPS, the bullet hit the neck/shoulder. Steve said, "the bull never moved."

Very nice! Congratulations! That's some impressive velocity out of that 26" barrel.

I've not had the opportunity to use Hammer bullets, but I looked at the tipped HHTs and will give them a try in my 7mm PRC at some point before next years elk hunt.

Yes a bit long!

However, one of today's premiere barrel manufacturers, I can't remember which one…..has developed a "hinged" barrel making carry infinitely easier, while not sacrificing accuracy!

Congratulations, Steve - great job! I've had great luck with the Hammer Hunters in my .300 WSM. I'm excited to try out the new 170 HHTs in my 7mm PRC (that should be shipped to me any day now)!
