Shipping stuff

A few months ago I tried to return an optic, even had a return label with instructions to ship UPS. UPS guy said they could no longer ship anything gun related. It was obviously gun related, being shipped to an "Armory ". He's said if I bought in a box and said ship this screw, no problem. If I said ship this pistol grip screw, he couldn't do it.

Scopes are excluded from the firearms parts restriction with UPS. They specifically say scopes are allowed but that really it. Nothing else firearms related unless you have an FFL and its associated to your special account

I save my boxes that my hard cases come in, so when I ship a long gun it is inside a case w/o an excessive size box. Regulations require that contents cannot be readily identified on the outside as a firearm (plain brown wrapper).
snip......
When Satern shipped back the action that they barreled for me they shipped it in an inexpensive Plano hard case with the case's own box carefully turned inside-out. The peculiar shape is sort of a hint of what it is, but there was nothing exposed that said "firearm."

"Never send anything without tracking"

I mailed via USPS a certified check for an item in the LRH classifieds on Friday. It cost me $7.50.

It took 4 days to get to Rochester, NY - a 60-90 minute commute from the Buffalo area. It was suppose to be delivered to MA Tuesday. It is still on it's way. This picture was taken this morning. Status is still the same as I post this comment, except the date has changed to Dec. 04
It is there. No update for "Out for Delivery", etc. In my experience, lapses in USPS tracking are not unusual.
