I am debating on having Shilen install a muzzle brake when they make my barrel, its $169, vs $75 for just threading.

I can't find any info on the brakes that they use, CFL industries. Its definitely not the best looking, but I am more concerned with how they work.

Does anyone use one? How does it work? Do you have an pictures of what they look like when on a barrel?

Thanks

I have made and tested LOTS of brakes. For sure I can tell you if the the tube used for the brake is bored out, the brake will not work near as well as a brake with no more than a slightly larger than bullet hole through the middle. I call them thin wall and thick wall. Also if the holes are angled to the rear they work a lot better than perpendicular to the bore or angled forward.

Nothing like testing different brakes on the same rifle with the same load to get useful info.

I watched the video after the one you posted. His slide is similar to mine.

The Terminator 3 was way better than the others and Terminator 2 was noticeably better. I purchased one of each of the Terminators and they are fantastic. I installed the larger one on my wildcat that is 6% larger than the .26 Nosler and the smaller one on my wildcat that is about 4% larger than a .264 Win Mag. I hold them like I would when shooting a BB gun.
