Hello all,

I am in the market for a new scope. It will be going on a 300wsm custom build that will be used for elk out to 6-700yds (my first "real " long range rig) . I am looking at the Leupold vx-6 3x18x44 or the Vortex hs-t 4x16x44 . I have leupolds on all my other rifles and have always had good luck with them. I find that my 3.5x10 vx3 doesn't give me quite enough magnification anymore , I guess my 50yr old eyes aren't quite what they used to be so was looking for something with some more power and good turret repeatability. Any input would be appreciated.

Of the two you mentioned, I would go with the Leupold. Some people have complained about the clarity of the Vortex 4-16x design.

You might also take a look at a Nightforce SHV model

Thanks for the reply. I have seen the clarity issue mentioned also. I ended up ordering the Leupold this afternoon .
