Hello All,

As a "ham & egger" reloader of many years I need a bit of help. I have never reloaded a cannelured rifle bullet. Here's the deal, I would like to shoot (experiment) with the Hornady .277 SST bullet in my 270 Win, as it is significantly less expensive than the projectile I'm presently using not to mention is much more commercially available. I'm also semi impressed with the feedback others have offered on its accuracy in the 270 30-06 class rifle.I do have an OAL that I would like to start with at that length the case neck may not meet the cannelure. I'm inclined to ignore the cannelure because I do not crimp so I see no value in the cannelure other than to hold the bullet together. As a side note I wish Hornady would offer the ELDM in 130 & 140 Gr. But .

Thank in advance for your time and expertise.

Bill
