Scope Installation

If your rings have plenty of clamp once you lap to 80%, and you feel the need to go to 100%, go ahead and do it. If you stop at %80 you will be just fine, when lapped to that point you have elliminated what lapping is suposed to correct in the first place. 2 rings that align and put no flex or stress into the scope tube.

Side tip, Lapping bars wear out with use mic them for dimension.

Coyboy, JE Custom: thanks for the tips. I did it and all turned out very good. Rings aligned, lapped and scope went into the rings MUCH easier than before but tightened down with very little torque on the screws. Glad I took time to research this and then ask questions.

Now off to get the crosshairs perpendicular.
