WANTED: Good gunsmith very familiar with Savage 99 rifles.
I'm putting a tapered octagonal barrel on my Savage 99 C rifle. I'll supply the blank with 5R rifling and possibly even the octagonal barrel.
1. The barrel threads must be timed so the top barrel flat is EXACTLY horizontal.
2. The chamber must be cut to absolute minimum SAAMI specs. I hate sloppy chambers.
I'll be putting a custom (less drop/higher comb) Weineg laminated stock on it with a classic cheek piece.
