Sand Bags and Rice ???

why waste time with something perishable...you can get the poly-pellets at a craft store for 2$/lb

THey work perfect, are cheap and available, and wont rot...this a'int brain surgery fellas...

YMMV,

My buddy and I share a tumbler and use pecan shells, after a year we use that media for our bags and 're-media.'

Ain't brain surgery...that's for sure but sometime you just use what you have. My rice filled bags are cloth and work great. Been using them since 1995 when I started reloading and shooting on a regular basis.

I've since upgraded to a Hart front and Protector rear but still take along the rice bags if I need an extra set of bags for another shooter at the range.
