I have a Ruger tang safety action with a bolt face for -06 sized cases (.470ish).
Can it be opened up to .540 to accept a SAUM case and what kind of extractor work, if any, would need to be done. A gunsmith here local told me it isn't good to do but am questioning this.
I awesome the floor plate will need altered or changed as well, any help or suggestions would be great , thanks
