I have hunted with the kifaru Gunbearer. Have one on a Eberlestock and one on a Kifaru. The rifle is instantly available, takes a little getting used to it. I like it and will continue using it. Probably the best for hunting while you're hiking, others may be better for "packing in" your rifle.

Which this system can I strap it to side of my pack or do I need to have one hand on it at all times while I am using this set up?
Not an issue for me. Compared to my pack and rifle, the cradle's weight is nothing, but the return on investment is substantial.

I have tried SO many different systems. Gun bearer. Hard no. Try scrabbling or something technical with the gun hitting you in the face. Plus trying to glass. No.
V2-V3 system lacks so much in the needs of a TRUE backpack hunter.
I still have not found the right one
I bastardized between all the systems to make something that works. More or less.
I have ideas how to make something work but my days of backpacking are coming to a close
Age and time have come to my door and it's inevitable
Next try is buying a HNT 26 chassis with the folder buttstock. Putting the packing rifle in a compact shorter configuration seems to be the better option now
