revolver cleaning

I have a ruger security six in 357 and it is in need of a cleaning inside, what should i use to clean the internal parts which are dirty with to much lube and dirt. I dissasembled the piece, I have CRC brake cleaner and hoppe's, for lub i have kroil, gun oil, WD 40 and gun grease. I was told that wd 40 is a good cleaner. need some Info...................................L

I'd take the brake cleaner to them, although if it's really gunked up and hard I might go at them with a brush and some laquer thinner.
