Gre-tan furring pin assembly for a Remington 700 short action. Like new
To understand why you need this part all you need to do is remove your J-Lock from the bolt of your rifle! When you see the extremely snaked spring and have to physically pull it out of the back of the bolt because it binds so badly, you understand the inconsistent ignition it causes. It is covered in grease to help it slide in the bolt. Take the firearm into cold weather and it can fail to ignite the primer because the grease congeals. No oil or grease should ever cover the spring or pin, only shroud threads, cocking cam & bolt lugs. This is all it takes in the shop for someone to see the benefits gained.
The GTR assembly has been machined not to copy the original Remington firing pin, but to enhance consistency in lock time, pin travel and primer ignition.
