I have another KS shipping back from Karl today, so I've decided to let this one go. Stupid move on my part, but oh well. This is a 1986 (code DG) Remington 700 KS custom shop rifle in .280 Remington. I sent it to Karl to have it bedded in a Brown Precision Pound'r stock I bought here on the Fire from JAT. Karl also fluted the bolt, skeletonized the bolt handle and cerakoted the entire BA. It turned out awesome. It's matched up with a Timney trigger that breaks at 2 lbs +/- . The BDL bottom metal is new Hawkins Precision Oberndorf. I stayed with the original 1986 slotted action screws.
Here are the specs and components again:
B-series Sept 1986 Rem 700 KS barreled action in .280 Rem
Timney trigger
Hawkins Precision Oberndorf BDL bottom metal
Brown Precision Pound'r stock in black with silver speckles, bedded by Karl
Fluted Bolt
Skeletonized bolt handle
Full Cerakote
44" overall length
24" KS-profile barrel
13-3/8" LOP
Bare rifles weighs about 6 lbs 1 oz.
The rifle is in the same condition as received from Karl; not a blemish anywhere. I mounted the Talley Lightweights and Zeiss V4 scope and sighted it in with 5 rounds of factory ammo. I didn't shoot for groups, but just got it set for hunting. I got it on paper at 100 yards, dialed an adjustment and shots 4 & 5 went in the same hole. I wasn't surprised. The KS custom shop rifles are known for their accuracy.
$2,000 shipped for the bare rifle. If you want the Talleys and Zeiss Conquest V4 3-12x56mm #60 illuminated reticle scope, add just $700 more. First public I'll Take It trumps PM conversations. This is cross-posted. It's a very nice example of a 1980's KS with the extra Karl Kampfeld touches. You'll be pleased with it. Drop me a PM if you have any questions or need more photos.
