I inherited my buddy's Rem 700 Sendero in 7mm STW. It's a 2nd generation I believe, not the current offering. I quickly matched it up with a Leupold Mark5 HD 3.6-18x44 and it will be used out of box blinds over large bean fields in TN on whitetail. With that said I've had deer step into the fields at 50 yards as well as 600 yards.

I don't reload and my factory load right now is going to be Nosler Trophy Grade 175 grain ABLRs. Anyone got field experience with this ammunition?

I'm really excited to get this rifle in the field.

I started reloading the 175 for my 7RM this year. My experience was with the 168 ABLR and nothing but positive reviews from me. Average shot was around 311 yards and nothing but one shot drops. All pass through's near and a little further out. I have them grouping at 2" at 600 yards. Didn't take long to find the load my rifle wanted to shoot.

JCook, that is very nice to hear on the 168's. I have the 175 LRAB and found them easy to tune in the 7 RM and 7 STW.

175g LRAB on deer and large hogs is fantastic to say the least. You get the best of both worlds in terms of expansion creating huge damage on the inside, combined with tremendous penetration on quartering shots.

Depending on how OCD you are, you may want to sort these LRAB by Ogive length, but they are not real bad. The family has had great luck with these bullets in std 7 mag with R#22 and R#26.

It is great to hear of how well the 168g LRAB work!

Our 9T barrels from Krieger, X caliber, and Brux stabilize the 175's in the 280 AI, 7 RM, and 7 STW. I would not go an 8T unless I had to.

All of our chambers are throated a tad on the short side, we stuff the bullets back in the case. For three shot groups, 1/4-3/8" groups are normal, we load at the rifle range, tune the load.

Rem 700's in the 7 RM are exceptionally accurate with their 9.25" twist in a laminate boyd's stock, bbl free floated, action bedded, good high power scope, and tuned triggers....175g Nosler long range Accubonds really show out with Retumbo with fed 215's and R#25 with Win large rifle mag primer.

The STW is at 3150 with R#33, fed 215 shooting tiny groups with the 175g LRAB!
