Some body haved used R-17 For 270 wsm, or any better powder i apreciate your best load thankyou. I´m in Mexico i only have
IMR 4350
H4831sc
R-17

Thankyou

Reloader 19 works good if you can get some.

I've also used IMR4350 with 130gr SST that work pretty well. I started at 58gr 4350 with hornady 130gr sst gave me 3150fps.

Thats the only load of the SST or IMR 4350 that I loaded. I didnt do any fine tuning or trying to get the most of it. So it may vary for you. start low and work up. good luck

What weight bullets are you shooting? I have used IMR-4350 with 140 grains Accubonds. I have also loaded RL-17 with 130grain Accubonds. The IMR-4350 load has been my most accurate load and has produced a velocity of 3050+ ft/sec. I use 60.5 grains of IMR-4350 which is listed as max load in the Nosler #6 manual.

The Alliant Web site lists a max of 62 grains of RL-17 with a 130 grains BTSP bullet. This is the load that I shot in my gun but I have not gotten the accuracy that I am looking for and I have not checked the velocity.

I have 140 accubond,Federal 215 and WLRM, Winchester brass ?

Can you tell me what primer of this two and also what is the COL the you used
Thankyou

I just bought a laminated stock for my Winchester Model 70 Featherweight. I did not want to damage the Featherweight stock so I go a laminated Winchester stock and had it glass bedded and the barrel free floated.

As a result of this I have started working up some new loads. I am using Norma, and Remington brass. With most of my loads I have used WLRM primers. My gun has a long throat so my COL is very long,( 3.25). This will not fit the mag. in most guns and it would be in the lands of most 270WSM'S. 2.80-2.90 is the most common COL for the WSM'S.

I am now trying H1000 with my 140 Accubonds. They have not shot quite as great as my IMR-4350 load but it is good enough for a hunting load and I will be checking the velocity shortly and I think I should add 50-100 ft/sec to my velocity.

I got the best accuracy with H1000 for the 150SST and W780 for 140 and 130SST.

Good luck
