I recently grabbed a nightforce standard duty pic rail for a new rifle. I wanted it because it is aluminum and it was a lot cheaper than the steel. It does not have a recoil lug on it. My rifle will be a 6.5-284 with a 4-16 ATACR scope. Should be low recoil but I read the heavy scopes are hard on screws. Anyone have any thoughts? Will the standard survive 3-400 shots?

Ive used a few NF bases on some 700s in 300wm. Both in 6-48 and 8-40 sizes with thread locker. Never had an issues with the screws/movement. You should be good to go.

If you have any doubts, just bed the base to the receiver. You will have perfectly uniform contact with the receiver. I've been bedding all of mine recently and anyone with a brain and a little patience can achieve great results .
