I've been using the 250gr Berger in my 338-375 Ruger for many years now. Shot mule deer bucks, does, and bull elk. It is one of the best bullets for big game hunting that Berger makes. Excellent penetration through thick hide, muscle and bone with devastating internal damage, yet very minimal meat damage.
And they will shoot as good as anything with some tuning. Extremely forgiving bullet on paper. 76-76.5gr of H4350 gives me excellent accuracy as well as 77-77.5gr of RL16. Here are a couple pics of targets shot with my hunting rifle at 871 yards from a bipod. This accuracy is very consistent and repeatable with the Berger 250gr.
3 shot group with Berger 250gr using H3450, then two more rounds on another target to confirm accuracy.
All fired at 871 yards from bipod on the ground.
100 yard 4 shot group ladder test with RL16.
Working the 250gr Berger load up to max pressure
shooting at 871 yards with RL16 which was 77.5gr. Half grain below it in the ladder shot in the same POI.
(had a sticky target on the top for an aiming point but removed it from the paper. Top round hit sticky target so that's why there's no carbon around the top hole after removing the sticky target)
