I bought both these scopes off LRH and hate them both. Glass is fine on both, the nightforce has a miniscule chip on the eyepiece (metal part) which effects nothing and shows slight ring marks. The vortex is good to go with HSR-4 reticle. When it is on 10x it gets blurry to my eyes. Same issue with my 1.5-8 HD LH. Might be how I set the focus on reticle, none the less it is a bunch of crap to me-do not have that problem with my leupolds or my nightforces. I have never shot a rifle with them on but they were used before I got em.

800 for the nightforce and 400 for the vortex plus shipping. Will put photos on tomorrow or later tonight.

whoops, totally spaced it. Thanks.

FYI- The illumination on the nightforce for daytime use is worthless, but as the evening or early morning comes it works.

There is a little nick on the vortex too. You can see it in the photo, the shiny thing.

What didn't you like about it? The only thing wrong is the chip on the eye piece? Glass in good shape?

I don't like reticle, that was my fault, thought it was different, the illumination is pretty worthless until evenings, the eye relief is not that great either. So as a whole, it isn't that great, especially when I gave over 1k for it. The glass is absolutely good to go and the chip is on the eyepiece. I certainly wouldn't be afraid to use it at all. There are some ring marks on it, don't remember if I put that in the description. I'm taking a 300$ loss for a scope I never put on, I just find it a sub par scope as a whole. If it was on an AR you could scoot it back another inch and eye relief would not be an issue. I am a bolt gun guy that like smaller scopes. I have a 2.5-10x24 NXS and even a Leupold Mark HD3 1.5-4 that I prefer for all of the stated reasons.
