Hey Guys,
Big Mike 2121 here. New to the forums, and to long range hunting/shooting. Just put a deposit down on a remington 700 ss 5r in .300 win mag. Am going to mount a 4-16x50 nikon monarch x on it. ( I get 30% off nikon products) What rings do you guys recommend?

Hi BM, want to welcome you to the fourm. Your going to enjoy that 300 winy. Good choice to my way of thinking.
Theres a big selection in bases and rings for remingtons. Tactical or standard? Do you want an additional 20moa base? If so that would indicate a tactical base which can be had from Near, Nightforce, and a host of others. Figureing out what you want is half the fun.

I recommend you mount your scope as close to the barrel as possible with a leopold or burris mount.
