New Leica Geovids vs Old?

Has anyone done a comparison test of the new 8x42 and 10x42 Geovids with the older 7x42 model? A friend brought the 7x42 wih him on a recent varmint hunt and I was impressed with how well it worked with small distanct targets on flat terrain. I'd like to know if the newer models are as good as the older one, or are they even better? The only strike I could see against the older 7x42 was that it was pretty heavy. The newer models are quite a bit lighter.

Hi Dave, the newer geovids are a further developement of the technology and gadgetry in the older geovids, so the newer ones are a more up to date version of the electronics. and in a smaller lighter package. go for the newer ones, uless you like carrying heavey weights or get a gen 1 pair for a great price.
