Previously posted, buyer has health issues AND lost his wife, prayers please! But this needs a home! I'm quite happy running a few SAUMs so this needs to go. All work by WTO. Tire kickers go away, if your serious pm me. Set up to run 156s at 3100-3150, with magic pixie dust, who cant like that! Toss that *** 6.5 PRC away and run this at the envy of all your buddies. Defiance, McMillan, Bartlein, Calvin Elite, WTO custom 2 port brake, 8lbs 14 oz. custom paint! 3500$

I have 280AI Dies, you can buy the 6.5mm dies n insert inside, my suggestion is to buy two sets with equal spacing between 7mm down to 6.5mm and prevent the dreaded donut…

Excuse me, bit late at nite, all u need is bushings inside these dies to downsize 7mm brass to 6.5mm….i'd buy two sets of nitride bushings and u can downsize 280AI Brass. I have two boxes (50) of brand new Nosler Brass. You can go to West Texas Ordnance website and find bit more info..sure Clayton can give even more specifics than I can….though I'm pretty sure what I know about the cartridge can make ur head spin..

Great caliber had one years ago. They will shoot lights out. Only need 280 ackley bushing die throw in a 6.5 bushing and your good to go. Good luck with sale awesome caliber

This is a great cartridge! I like it so much that I have two custom rifles chambered in it right now. Mine shoot everything from 100gr Ballistic tips to the 156's equally well.

Zhomeguy, what twist is the barrel?

The sellers rifle is a good deal, IMHO, and if I didn't already have two, I'd be buying this one.

What is the difference between this 6.5 280 AI and
a 6.5-06 AI. Don't they use the same size brass?

Case head diameter, yes, case body length, no. The 6.5-280AI uses 280AI, 280 Rem, 25-06, or .270 brass. You can use '06 brass, but you wind up with a really short neck.
Personally, I use .270 brass almost exclusively as it is much more readily available to me.

Yeah, 6.5-06 load data is a good place to start with 6.5-280AI if someone is just starting with the cartridge. It will outrun any 6.5-06 all day.

I've had best luck with running new Nosler 280 AI brass, and with two bushings sizing down. Nice clean cases n no need to neck turn. And i agree other than the barrel burner Nosler this one is pretty hard to beat pushing 147s to 156s…
Lets get this an appropriate home!

I use 25-06 brass to make my 6.5-06ai..so it should be Identical?
