I understand, kind of in the same boat. Been thinking about building a 280 AI. I have a Dpms Hunter 243 for sale elsewhere here IF you had any interest in an AR type varmint rifle.

It shoots168 grain Berger's 2 cutting each other then the thirds half inch away. That's off a glass patio table with my heartbeat! Pendleton stocks made the stock Wayne York of Oregunsmithings outfit. Weighs 7.4 pounds with steel rings and bases no scope.
Sorry it weighed 7.7 pounds with Swarovski S3 scope on it.
