hello friends,
i'm new to the page and somewhat new to the long range shooting. i just purchased a howa 1500 .300 win mag and was curious about any info you might have on accuracy loads that this rifle may like! any info would be greatly appreciated.

Starting at 72 grains of H1000 with the 208 Amax 15 off the lands will get you to an accuracy node before pressure gets too high. Retumbo starting at 75 grains will get you there if H1000 doesn't work.

thanks just starting out and kinda playing around inexpensively for the time being before making the investments to reach my ultimate goal of putting 3 in a paper plate at a mile!!! huge goal i know but this group after all is kinda about extremes right???

That is a great goal. Sub MOA for sure. Consider the 230 Berger for 1760 then take a look at a 1mph wind drift at that distance. Learn to read the wind very well and your goals will be there before you know it. Keep us informed.

thanks it may take me awhile but without goals of extreme accuracy at extreme distances we might as well be "The average hunting group"! i really appreciate everones welcomes and input!!!
