My bro in law got bit by the bug from me sending him pictures of my guns and long range shooting.

He "commissioned" me to put a gun together for him...gave me no budget. He just wanted it to be big, nasty and loud.

I did all of the threading and chambering on my buddies lathe (with his assistance).

Reamer was a PTG SAMMI spec 300 RUM

Snowy Mountain Mag Action with their 20 moa steel rail (nitrided bolt and action)
PTG Bolt and pin assembly
PTG .250 Lug
Brux Barrel 1-10" (28" without brake 29.5 with. Heavy palma countour)
RWS Brake
PTG BDL bottom metal with ACIS modified mag
HS Precision stock (repainted with duracoat)
Leupold 4.5-15X50 LR scope (send it back to Leupold and had MI turrets put installed)

I had to open the ejection window of the stock because the Snowy Mountain Action has a 1/2 larger window than the Rem 700 LA.

I repainted it in OD green with slight black webbing and a few flecks of gray. It turned out pretty nice.

The magazine is a 338 Lapua ACIS that I had to modify. The Lapua case is quite a bit shorter than the 300 RUM case. The reinforcing stamp in the magazine had to be removed for the RUM case to fit.

I doesn't appear to have lost any rigidity and it works flawlessly now.

All in all it weighs 12.5 pounds and it fairly well balanced for the length of barrel.

I am going to bring it to him next weekend.

Hopefully it shoots
