Okay, to start off I feel like such an idiot having to ask this as I have been reloading for a long time.
I finally finished my .280ai build and bedded it yesterday. Time to work up some loads for the upcoming bear season in eight days.
So I am full length sizing with an RCBS full length sizing die with the expander ball removed. I easily achieved my .002" shoulder bump. I then went to size the necks to accept the bullets with a .002" tension using the Lee Collet sizing die. (Lee Collet dies will work for their ai counterparts, ie: .280 Rem will work in a .280ai as there is plent of room according to Lee). When I sized the cases with the Lee die, my shoulder headspace measurement grew .005"! I went back and rebumped with the RCBS FL sizer and it makes the necks way too tight.
Any ideas?
