Mornin gents. Gonna work up a good deer load for this year and was wondering if anyone had any pet loads. Will be shooting in a Win 70 yote model. Prefer sierra bullets 165-168 gr

Look forward to some thoughts

BTW By no means am I hung up on those bullets. Part of me thinks maybe even lighter for midwest deer.

Joe,

I've had the best results w/ R22 and H4831.

My pets loads are:

66.5 Grns of R22 under 180 NBTs for 2940 fps MV

70.0 Grns of H4831 under 150 grain Nosler Accubonds (Haven't Chronied this one)

Both loads shoot .5-.75 @ 100.

I have a pretty fast barrel so you may not get 2900+ w/ the load I mentioned. It's a pretty mild load compared to the data I've seen.

165 Grn Speer Hot Cores also shot well w/ R22 (Don't have the notes but, I believe it was 68 grains)

All of those loads are fairly mild.

Good Luck!

I have it on very good authority (Wins' ballistic engineer) that the factory Win. loading for 180's uses standard Win. 760, might be worth considering since some of the Winchester factory ammo shoots incredibly well in the .300 WSM.

H4350 is also one of my favorites.
