What's up with the front lug area?View attachment 748930
I do for the ones I'm gonna bed. Too much empty space to bed everything at once. It would have shrank a lot in that area. Have your rifle builder mill out for the lug and you won't have shrinkage. I let that area cure for a month minimum before bedding.

Could just be my opinion, but it's hard to advertise as new when you have already started a bedding process and then not complete it. Now any smith you take it to is going to charge you to clean that out.

In all actuality this would save you money with a smith as he would not have to do this step and allow it time to cure. So I would disagree this stock has never had an action bolted into it. So it's new and prepared to be bedded. Not to mention it's $200-300 less than a retail one.

Is the recoil lug area full to the bottom of the action inlet? In other words you need to mill out the lug area to drop a barreled action in it correct?

I also believe there is a threaded plate insert at the bottom of that area for the tripod mount plate that comes on these stocks. It usually looks just like the area in front of the lug recess for the front screw. I usually fill this void completely up with bedding material when I bed them so this should be a non issue for anyone concerned.

This is what I am wondering, too. If I can drop an action in it to bed it, then there's no problem. But the seller says it will need to be milled…which would cost—not save!—time or money for those of us bedding our own stuff.

That said, I got a Manners PH-A a few months back and love it so far.
