I'm going to try up a load for a 300 rum with the 212 hornady eldx bullets and wondered what powder and charge guys are having good luck with. Thanks for the help!!

I load for 300 WM and 30-378, which are on either side of the RUM in case capacity. I'd try H1000, Retumbo, RL-26, and possibly RL-33. The 33 might be a smidgin too slow for getting max velocity though.

I use 88.5 grains of retumbo in mine. I seat the 212 at .095" off the lands in Norma brass sparked by a F215M. I drive them right at 3100 fps for <.5 MOA with no pressure signs.

I am working on a load using an HbN coated 212 ELD-X, but using R33. So far my tests have shown promise with 95.0, 95.5, and 96.0 grains using virgin Norma brass and a GM215M primer. All charges tested with .010" jump and no pressure signs and easy extraction. Just need to tweak seating depth and retest for best accuracy. Naked bullets will probably use 1-2 grains less powder for the same pressure.

95.5-3116avg, SD12
96.0-3136avg, SD7
