I was hoping to help the op along with the sale, it's a great buy. Yes, I actually owned the 4-20 VX5. The 3.6-18 is better across the board and does it with less bulk.

Have you compared the mark5 3.6-18 to a vh5hd 4-20. Again, not hijacking. Trying to decide. If the OP would like I'll move on and post questions elsewhere.

I personally can't compare a Mark5 to a VX5. Completely different scopes. @southpa dump your VX5 & buy this thing. I have 3 of em & yes you can kill a deer at 1000yds +

Do you feel this scope has enough on the top end for longer shots? Let's say out to 1000 on deer sized game?

I have the same scope on my cooper 6 cm and had no problem taking precise aim and taking a coyote at 851 yards and a porkypine at 805. Great scopes looking at get anouthet form my 22 cm
