Leica 2800.com battery life?

I bought a 2800.com a few months back and have hardly used the thing. Today I was out deer hunting and the thing died on me. My older 1600 Leica a battery would last a year or better. Is this a common thing on these 2800.com to eat batteries this fast? Is it maybe due to the Bluetooth being turned on for when I use my Kestrel?

I have heard that the Bluetooth does eat up battery life pretty fast on those. I've had a 2800.com for 3 years now and only changed the battery once and I use it a fair bit throughout the year. I don't have the Bluetooth turned on though.
