New to rifles. Due to poor eyesight I always shot pistols and shotguns. I literally could not see the big E without glasses

Now that I am much older and laser eye surgery, plus a bad shoulder I have been shooting handgus with less recoil like a 1911 in 38Super, Walther P1 in 9 MM etc.

But this year I purchased my first Ruger 10/22 and then a AR15. The AR is 223 wylde, great barrel. Shot my first sub MOA at 100 yards in May, 2012. Spent entire summer teaching 9 year old grandson to shoot, he lives in Socialist Kalifornia.
The week he went back home I shot for the first time every at 200 yards, shot a 1.2 inch group at 200 yards with the AR and 52 grn BH match ammo. Now I shoot both the 223 Wylde and a 6.8 SPCII, both shoot sub MOA at 200 yards.

Last month purchased my first bolt gun, a Savage 16 in 223. It shoots great, sub MOA at 100 yards. Grandson also shot his first bullseye at 100 yards after Christmas couple of days after Christmas.

Ordered a 20 inch stainless 3 grove polygonal barrel in 6.8 SPC II for the Savage model 16. Took everything apart yesterday, just waiting on the barrel.

Grandson wants to hunt, figure the low recoil of the 6.8 will be perfect for yotes, hogs and deer.

I am still learning to shoot, read everything and look at all the TV shows.
Plus had an Army recon/sniper help me and grandson at the range. I do OK for an old man, I shoot cold bore at 200 yards and typically get within 1.5 inches or better of dead center. Learning to shoot in the wind too.
