Kestrel vs app?

Help me understand why you would buy a kestrel with applied ballostics $600 vs a $80 dollar wind reader and a $10 phone app? It seems like you could accomplish the same thing with of course the hassle of one extra device.
 
Or I should say the kestrel 3500(it has temp, psi, etc) plus app so that's 200 dollars still saving you 300 dollars....or am I missing something
 
I am in the same boat Bryntownin.

I already have a Rangefinder with pressure, temp and angle, and a phone with ballistic app.

I need a wind meter and can't see spending that kind of money either!!:D
