Sounds like a good reason to cancel your capital one cc anyway. I cant stand capital one-- had plenty of other problems with them in the past so won't own one again.
I don't know all the details but a while back there were evidently some issues, and now on their payment page in big red letters Third Generation has a sign that says do not pay here using Capital One, cause Capital One will cancel your card.

If true, shooters should cancel their own Capital One cards. There are better cards out there anyway.
