HS Precision SS, .277 cal, #2 contour (heavy sporter), straight flutes, 24" finish length. .675 @ 24". 1:8 twist. Ordered this directly from HS about 6 months ago to rebarrel my 270wsm. Decided in that time to go a different direction. $425 shipped. Has it been threaded for an certain action, or is the black protector just covering the excess tenon area?

It has not been threaded. HS does a partial cut on the tenon and a rubber cap covering it.
