I'm wondering what kind of oal's to expect using 200gr or 212gr ELDX bullets in my 300 WSM??

Plan is to setup rifle for these bullets out of AICS mags, but the mags are 2.950" max oal. That would be great for my current Berger 190's and current barrel (savage), but I'm planning to order a faster twist barrel and jumping up in bullet to the 200 or 212 ELDX's....obviously Accubonds and Berger's are in my thought process..

I would like to run a bigger 0.6 bc bullet at 2700-2800 FPS.

Thoughts? Can you share 300 WSM OAL's you are using?

Right now, I load Berger 190's to 2.930"....or 0.020" off lands. That would fit the 2.950" mag.

BTW, I'm looking for 2 of each Hornady 30 cal 200, 212, 220gr ELDX bullets, if somebody wants to sell me a few.

The 200.20x is designed around the 215. I haven't personally taken game with then. But the 215 hybrid is a known performer. All they did with the 200.20x was cut some off the end. It's such a short bearing surface that it should be very similar to 190 vld. The eldx line have very long bearing surface which will require a lot of the bullet to be in the case.
