My name is Dave, and I live in interior AK. I'm a geologist, thus the name. I've been lurking the forum for a few weeks, and I checked it out initially because it was recommended by a forum member elsewhere during a discussion of hunting with 270 WSM. I've learned quite a bit just reading already, and now I have questions myself so I figured I'd join up.
My main interest in this forum is learning about real world bullet performance on game at long range. I know how to hit at long range, but I've never need my bullets to do anything but punch a hole in paper or make steel ring. I just don't want to take a longish range shot on a sheep or whatever and find out the hard way that I made a bad choice when I picked my bullet.
