Ok, I am a little confused and need a little help.

I am running a MOA 2 reticle on a Sightron SIII 6x24 SFP. I have the rifle zeroed dead on at 200 yards. I planned on only using the reticle for assistance with wind and have been dialing in the elevation for longer distances than my zero but I would like to understand the reticle and possibly use it for elevation hold over also.

So the individual 2 MOA marks are true at 100 yards with 24x and double their values at 12x-I understand this.

Running my ballistics on the G7 calculator with my 200 yard zero at my shooting elevation ect. I need to dial in 10.3 MOA to be on at 600 yards. If my scope is set at 24x how many 2 moa hash marks would I use to duplicate the dialing in of 10 moa on my turret?

I have a target at 600 yards, my scope is on 24x and my Elevation turret is set at my zero of 200 yards.

Do I need to think in terms of 2 moa at 100 yards on the reticle=12 MOA at 600 yards (in which even one of the 2 MOA hash marks would be too much at 12 moa) or would I simply use five of the 2 MOA hash marks to get the 10 MOA increase just like dialing the 10 moa on the elevation turret?

Thanks for any help.

How, the 2 moa hash mark=12 moa on the target at 600 yards or using 5 of the has marks to equal 10 moa of elevation increase ??

Where did I answer my own question in the original post?

Do five of the 2 moa hash marks= 10moa on the target at 600 yards or does just one of the 2 moa hash marks=12moa on the target at 600 yards? The 2 moa hash marks are true at 100 yards so does that mean they represent 4moa at 200 yards, 6 moa at 300 yards, 8 moa at 400 ect?

Thanks

MOA is true at any distance, but the linear distance changes (1moa=1 inch @ 100 but 6 inches at 600). If your program calls for 10 MOA crank your scope up to 24x and hold the 5th line down.

Ok,

Yes 5x2=10, but remember 1moa is 1.047 @100yds. I will keep it simple and just say 1 inch.

1moa @100 =1inch
1moa @200= 2inch
1moa @300= 3inch
1moa @400= 4inch
1moa @500= 5inch
1moa @600= 6inch

All the way to 1000yds its 10inches. Think in moa not clicks.
Remember moa is true in all ranges, like I flashlight the closer it is the narrow the beam. As your scope with 2 moa hash mark at 24x means @600 yds equal 12 inches. Cause if 1 moa is 6inches @600yds than 2 moa will be 12 , get it ?

Don't confuse distance in inches with MOA which is an angle. 2moa on the reticle is 2moa whether the target is at 5 yards, 50 yards or 500 yards. If you need 10MOA elevation count 5 tics on the reticle at 24x and your done. Fractions of 2MOA are harder to do but you could probably split to get 1moa (half way). Less than that and your eyesight better be better than mine...
