Hello there!
This is my first post! I have become very interested in long range shooting for hunting, F-class shooting and/or sniper competitions. At my age, although my eyesight is still pretty darn good and I'm in (relatively) good shape (considering my age- LOL!!) , sniper competitions might be a bit of a stretch (LOL!- again). So... it would probably be a good idea to attend a couple of sniper shoots to get a good dose of reality and see if I should proceed from there!! Either way, I figure that F-class OR sniper competitions would be a good way to learn a lot about equipment, ballistics, re-loading, etc. to prepare myself for long-range hunting in the fall! I already re-load (Rock Chucker) and have gotten hold of a rifle that should be good for beginning at this- Savage 10 FCP McMillan. I know it's not the absolute BEST rifle but it was available at a very good price and it will shoot (with Black Hills ammo) 1/2 MOA (at 100 yds., anyway) as long as I do my part.
I came across this site by entering the search term "long range forum" and thought, "that looks EXACTLY like what I need!"
Anyway.. I'm glad to discover you guys and hope you don't mind me scouring the posts and picking your brains to learn how it's done!
Thanks for being here!!
